Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Tunbridge Wells

Thackeray's Restaurant

85 London Rd, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1EA, UK – 01892 511921

Great place for great meals. Creaky old building with slanted polished wood floors, moody lighting a the scent of history. The lunch menu is both reasonably affordable yet a glimpse of the amazing food they have to offer. The tasting menu, and accompanying wine pairing is fabulous. Great wines that fit closely with an exciting menu of rich and varied flavours. Would recommend for very good food and tasty wine in classic surroundings.

What a restaurant should be. Elegant decor but not stuffy. Good food & wine. Lunch is great value. Dinner is pricey but still good value. Really enjoyable place to eat.

Bill's Tunbridge Wells Restaurant

Lime Hill Rd, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1LJ, UK – 01892 548699

Had a lovely 'Birthday' evening at Bills tonite. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was delicious - we all enjoyed our meal. Varied menu to please everyone. Have been before and will definitely be back again soon. Its in a nice part of Tun Wells with parking nearby. I highly recommend this place. Give it a try . . .you'll be back too!

A recent visit on the day of a menu change yielded mixed results. The overall quality of the food has taken a bit of a dive. Service is still good though.

Sucheera Thai Restaurant

71 Calverley Rd, Tunbridge Wells TN1 2UY, UK – 01892 511370

A good impression as you enter. Tastefully decorated. Very busy the evening we ate. We went upstairs as it was full downstairs. . Service was very slow, one waitress clearly wasn't enjoying her work the other far more pleasant. The food was very good. I was glad to finish my meal and get out. I would not go back.

Went as a family group of 8. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous but fun as well. Sharing platter starter was very nice. I had lamb main which was very tasty but I found myself looking wistfully at others chicken volcane. House red was a nice French merlot. £218 for starters, main and drinks for 8 of us seemed reasonable. Would recommend and will go there again.
