Local Bookshops

The Aviation Bookshop

33 Vale Rd, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1BS, UK – 01892 539284

Great mail order book store - friendly and helpful and knowledgeable staff - I highly recommend this book shop to any aviation buff from U.K. or abroad.

It's a paradise for the aviation enthusiast, I would stay there all day long browsing the books! Also a very good selection of plastic models and the prices are very reasonable. I got an original Navigation Manual from 1941 for 45£ and a Practical Flying book from 1918 for 20£, it's about one hour by train from London Charing Cross station, it's very near from Tunbridge Wells Station. Very polite staff, highly recommended!

32-40 Calverley Rd, Tunbridge Wells TN1 2TD, UK – 01892 535446

Friendly well informed staff who appear interested and engaged in giving a good service. Would like to see a wider range of fiction. Otherwise best shop in the area.

Knowledgeable staff, excellent choice, nice group for book club

Halls Bookshop

20-22 Chapel Place, Tunbridge Wells TN1 1YQ, UK – 01892 527842

What a wonderful find and in such a beautiful location. Brilliant bookshop with some great finds waiting to be found.

If you love books then this place is a must-visit. Recently renovated and redecorated, Hall's is a Tunbridge Wells landmark that has stood the test of time and the fluctuations in the book trade. Books from ceiling to floor and, for the seasoned bibliophile, rare and antique books to have a look at. I could spend hours in Halls. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. But the stars of the show, the books, will whisk you off to another place as your browse the shelves. If you are in Tunbridge Wells, do visit Hall's. It's worth it for the experience alone.
